No Place Like … ‘Murica
During long grey Irish weekends, I get nostalgic and reminisce about the wonderful, sunnier, warmer days of holidays past. And like Dorothy, yearning to go home, today I yearn to go back to sunnier pastures, where short skirts and crop tops are the norm.
These shots were taken during my Florida Christmas break, in the perfectly manicured town of Celebration, a real life Disney town. And what better outfit to do justice to the innocence of the place then a Wizard of Oz inspired look.
My version of Dorothy included:
- Replacing Toto and his basket with an adorable baby blue bike.
- Opting for a pair of comfy Converse instead of the traditional sparkly red heels.
Although I am a sucker for anything sparkly with a heel, I thought it best to keep it low key with my first ever pair of Converse. I can’t believe it took me so long to get a set of all mighty Chucks, but, now that I have, I must say I am a “Convert” – Pun 100% intended.
Now that I am on a roll, there will be more sunny Florida posts to come … because as they say, there is
“No place like … ‘Murica!!!”
